Hello, I am Angela, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Cognitive Analytic (CAT) Therapist, CAT Supervisor, Trainer and Coach with over 30 years’ experience working in the NHS and Independent practice.
We can all find ourselves at a point in our lives when things are not how we’d like them to be. We can be caught up in negative patterns, experience difficult symptoms (such as struggling with sleep or anxiety, feeling low or stressed) and have difficulties with our relationships, work or our health. We may have experienced something traumatic or stressful that we struggle to cope with or find ourselves caught up in a negative situation that we don’t seem to be able to escape. Sometimes it can feel like the same things keep happening to us whatever we do to try to prevent this. It may just be that you need to make some changes for the better, in order to experience something different in your life.
Psychological approaches to understanding what is going on for you (such as therapy) can help guide how to successfully move forwards towards positive changes.
I believe that together we can build a shared understanding of what’s been happening and discover what may have caused what’s going on for you and what is maintaining the difficulties, so you can achieve successful change.
I am motivated by working with people to help them achieve their goals and supporting them to get results as quickly as possible. I am privileged to be part of a process that leads someone to experience a better life; There are many ways to live a successful life.
Coaching is a different kind of approach. I am an accredited Time to Think Coach. I can offer you an experience of working with a thinking partner in a way that is designed to enable you to think more effectively for yourself. It is common for our thinking to become blocked at times in ways we don’t necessarily notice (such as assumptions that we make about ourselves or other people), or because of distractions in the environment or interruptions from other people. I offer an experience of coaching that creates the conditions to help you tap into your inherent wisdom and encourage you to do your best thinking. Coaching within a Thinking Environment provides a framework to empower you to think more freely about whatever you decide to focus your thinking on.
