Hello, I am Angela, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Cognitive Analytic (CAT) Therapist, CAT Supervisor, Trainer and Coach with over 25 years’ experience working in the NHS and Independent practice.
We can all find ourselves at a point in our lives when things are not how we’d like them to be. We can be caught up in negative patterns, experience difficult symptoms (such as struggling with sleep or anxiety, feeling low or stressed) and have difficulties with our relationships, work or our health. We may have experienced something traumatic or stressful that we struggle to cope with or find ourselves caught up in a negative situation that we don’t seem to be able to escape. Sometimes it can feel like the same things keep happening to us whatever we do to try to prevent this. It may just be that you need to make some changes for the better, in order to experience something different in your life.
Psychological approaches to understanding what is going on for you (such as therapy) can help guide how to successfully move forwards towards positive changes.
I believe that together we can build a shared understanding of what’s been happening and discover what may have caused what’s going on for you and what is maintaining the difficulties, so you can achieve successful change.
I am motivated by working with people to help them achieve their goals and supporting them to get results as quickly as possible. I am privileged to be part of a process that leads someone to experience a better life; There are many ways to live a successful life.
Coaching is a different kind of psychological approach that can help someone achieve successful changes. Coaching provides a framework to empower you to gain further awareness of what’s going on, to help you discover your own solutions, through being able to think more freely about something, to drive your own direction.
This can be focussed on work (e.g. managing staff, transition to promotion, leadership skills, work life balance, stress management etc) or life coaching (such as making a difficult decision, managing a transition, or coaching in relation to important relationships).
