Clinical Supervision or Reflective Practice
I have also run CAT training supervision groups for Catalyse (previously ACAT North). Colleagues I supervise come from different professional backgrounds including clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, counselling psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, support workers, experts by experience, probation officers, GPs, offender managers and so on. Supervisees have a range of CAT knowledge and experience working in different contexts (including adult and child mental health services and both adult and child forensic services). Some supervisees are CAT trained (either as a therapist or psychotherapist), are currently in CAT training, have CAT experience (without formal training) or no CAT training with an interest in learning about using the CAT model in their work.
Sessions may be once or twice a month or in some cases less frequently. The venue for supervision varies for each individual or group. For example, some supervisees come to see me at one of my venues. I also travel to various work bases and some sessions are carried out using Zoom conferencing (where appropriate).
I also offer RP (reflective practice) groups within a CAT framework. Often the RP groups that I offer follow on from some training I have provided to a team or to support individuals to consolidate their CAT knowledge and develop further CAT expertise. Other RP groups are set up as ongoing reflection on practice using the CAT model including reflection on using CAT consultancy approaches such as Five Session CAT Consultancy Care Planning.
Individual Reflective Practice sessions cost £200 per 60 minutes and the cost for Group RP varies depending on the specific circumstances and needs of the group.
